I watched This Means War a funny spy film with decent amounts of action and witty banter.  I’m not a fan of McG‘s work with the exceptions of Terminator Salvation and Fastlane (although he only wrote & directed the pilot then left the show, and I feel that it got better after the pilot).  Chris Pine plays a perfect wannabe James Bond pretty boy.  Tom Hardy plays a great kindhearted hard core spy.  What really makes you laugh is the banter that goes on between these two, it’s always little comments, but it’s what makes the film so great.  Now let me say this first, I have never been a fan of Reese Witherspoon, it’s not that I think she’s a bad actress I’ve just never seen anything that she’s done that I’ve enjoyed….until now.  She was funny throughout the film and played off the guys very well.  Chelsea Handler plays the perfect bitch up until the end, which is what is needed for this story so perfect casting call!

Over all I’d have to say it was a great film, the story was solid, the acting was great, the humor was funny, the action was enjoyable, and the ending was both heart warming and hilarious.  This is a definite must see film.

This is the second Tom Hardy film I’ve seen this week this first being The Dark Knight Rises.
