This weekend I went to go see Pacific Rim, and while it wasn’t the best film I’ve ever seen it was still very enjoyable and worth the ticket price.  I was never a huge fan a Mecha and Mosters but this was just a great time and was done in such a way that really engaged me.

While I’ve never been a fan of most of Guillermo del Toro’s work (with the exception of Hellboy & Hellboy 2) I have to say this one impressed me. Charlie Hunnam and Rinko Kikuchi really play well off each other, all the other characters help keep you engaged while not getting in the way.  The dialog left a little to be desired but over all it was good enough and mercifully not to clichéd. Also the CGI was absolutely amazing, you can almost believe that the monsters and the machines were real.  If you haven’t seen it yet I’d say see it while it’s in the theater, this is a fun one to see on the big screen.
