In response to the Parkland Florida shootings

*NOTE* I will not be using the shooters name or picture, and I encourage everyone to do the same and not glorify these people.

After the Stoneman Douglas High School shooting in Parkland Florida on February 14, 2018 a lot of people are calling for the resignation of the Director of the FBI Christopher A. Wray after it was disclosed that the FBI had received a tip about the shooter and failed to act “appropriately” on the tip.  First of all I agree the information should have been forwarded to the Miami field office for further examination, but you have to realize that the FBI gets an average of 700 tips per day and they can’t immediately follow up on every since tip.  Think about it this way 700 tips per day times 365 day per year equals 255,500 tips per year, now there are only about 13,412 special agents so that’s 255,500 tips divided by 13,412 special agents which equals 19.050104384.  Now lets say that the average tip requires one month to fully investigate and since there are only 12 months in a year that leaves 7.050104384 tips per agent that can’t be investigated, and remember this is in a perfect situation and those don’t really happen.

Am I saying the people of Parkland, FL should just get over it?  No, they’ve been though a traumatic event and are looking for someone to blame, I get that.  But to the people in the rest of the country I would say look at the facts, the FBI isn’t perfect they aren’t going to catch every criminal, if they were perfect there wouldn’t be a Top 10 Most Wanted list.

If you still think the FBI Director should resign

Well if you still think the FBI director should resign then you have to also hold those who put him in charge of the FBI responsible as well, after all they are the ones who nominated him, vetted him, and ultimately voted to confirm him.  After all it is these people’s job to make sure that the person they give the job to is qualified for the job, and if you think he needs to resign then you must think he’s not qualified, and lets face it if the people who nominated him, vetted him, and confirmed him picked an unqualified person then they too must be unqualified and therefor should also be forced to resign.

The following is a list of the elected officials who were responsible for nominating, vetting, and confirming Christopher A. Wray to be the Director of the FBI:
