Ok so the back story is when I was in high school I had to drive out to alliance two times a week for tutoring, and instead of taking Route 62 I had to take back roads since the truck I was driving at the time didn’t do well at highway speeds, in other words it was an old beater truck and would stall at 55 mph.
So after I got done with the Mansfield run tonight I decided I wanted to see if I could remember how to get to alliance on the back roads now that I have a car that can handle everything, so I did it and remembered every twist and turn and made it the without any problems. Then I jumped on Route 62 towards canton and started my way home, and as I was driving I saw the sign for Louisville and remembered a former coworker at castle living there and telling me how nice it was, so I jumped off 62 and took the 44 exit to Louisville. Now 44 is supposed to lead to east canton which in on route 30 and I know that part just fine, well if you look at the map it says it’s a strait shot…BULL SHIT! The signs said to turn here then turn there all to follow 44 south, ok well some how I ended up totally lost and roaming around back roads like 183, 800, and may that weren’t even marked. I tried to stop and ask directions but every gas station I stooped at was closed until I found a speedway, well I go in tell the lady I’m lost and trying to get back to canton and she has no idea how to get there and that her husband drives her every where so she had no idea…great. So I ask to look at one of the maps and she says ok, I looked at the map and found my was back. So I get on the road and sure as shit the map was wrong after I got to the point I couldn’t remember how to get back, so I just tried to find my way on some more back roads and finally ended up in Magnolia and found a sign that said alliance 25 miles this way. So I started that way thinking I would get there and then jump on 62 AGAIN and go home, well then the road dead ended into another road and I was stuck till I saw a sign a little ways down the road that I was dead ended into saying north 43. So I turned and head north on 43 hoping I was remembering right that it would go to canton, and sure enough after some time and alot of self doubt I saw the sigh for route 30 and was able to get home.
So after all this I was on the road lost for over an hour and a half and I managed to put 93 extra worthless miles on my car. So I’ve decided that until I can get my GPS mounted back in my car I won’t being going on any more stupid trips where I could get completely lost. Oh and by the way speaking of GPS I forgot I have a 30 day free trial GPS system on my phone and didn’t realize this till I was back in canton, I’m a dumb ass. Sacajawea I’m not, more like Christopher Columbus get lost going the completely wrong way and keep going the wrong way over and over and over till you just way well this has to be it…again I’m a dumb ass.
